When ranked as a disorder leading to poor health, low back pain came 3rd, only after ischemic heart disease and COPD*.1

There are a lot different reasons why you got low back pain:

·        You might get low back pain if you lifted something too heavy or you lifted it incorrectly or you could have twisted your back improperly. 1

·        It might also occur due to discs degeneration which caused them to lose their dampening ability. 1

·        Another form of low back pain is due to exerting an extra pressure on the sciatic nerve, this nerve is extended from the buttocks to the back of the leg. 1

·        Injury due to car accidents, sports can also cause tendons, ligaments or muscle injury, thus causing low back pain. 1

Low back pain leaves you with a feeling of not wanting to go out of bed, but this only makes it worse.2

Generally, treating low back pain involves the use of pain killers, staying active and remaining positive. 2
