I HAVE DIARRHEA, CAN IT GO AWAY?!

Diarrhea happens frequently during pregnancy due to hormonal changes, consuming a different diet, as well as the added stress of the coming baby.1

Generally, diarrhea causes a feeling of discomfort, as you may lose a significant amount of fluid which might accordingly cause dehydration. The sudden changes in your diet can also result in an upset stomach or diarrhea. You’re also becoming more emotionally sensitive and your hormonal levels are changing, which could lead to diarrhea too.2

The important thing is to try to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water, juice, or broth to rehydrate yourself and replace the electrolytes your body has lost.2

Remember that in most cases diarrhea will go away in a couple of days2, however, if it lasted for more than a few days, contact your doctor.1
