Vertigo attacks often occur suddenly, and is hard to be predicted. Although it is unpredictable, you can take some adaptations in your lifestyle to decrease its risk. Controlling any underlying diseases is also essential in cases of central vertigo.1

Some tips and tricks include:

·        General directions include: following a healthy lifestyle, managing cholesterol level, controlling diabetes and high blood pressure and avoiding smoking, you decrease your risk of experiencing vertigo. 1

·        For Meniere’s disease, decreasing the salt intake will help you in controlling vertigo.1

·        In case of being diagnosed by peripheral vertigo, routinely rehabilitation exercises and maneuvers may help in prevention of recurrent attacks. 1

·        If you tend to experience dizziness attacks, simple home precautions can do the trick: avoid sudden movements, try to make your home fall-proof by removing any tripping objects, sit immediately when you feel dizzy, avoid caffeine and drink enough fluids.2
