Both physical and emotional behaviors can increase your risk of high cholesterol.

Several Physical behaviors and Lifestyle choices that matters include: 1

·        Food Intake high in saturated fat and trans fat,

·        Not getting enough physical activity can make you gain weight,

·        Tobacco smoking lowers (HDL, or “good”) cholesterol levels.

Eating a heart-friendly diet, managing your weight, getting regular physical activities and quitting smoking are all risk factors that can be managed and can help in lowering your cholesterol levels.2

Emotional strain of all types can also affect your heart risk, as chronic stress can sometimes raise your LDL cholesterol and lower your HDL cholesterol. 3

·        Periods of mourning and sadness

·        Work load and high job stress

·        Money doubts and fears

Try relieving stress through meditation, prayers, looking for chances to have fun and laugh. Exercise can also give you a mental lift. Getting enough sleep also helps in dismissing stressful settings.3
