Having high cholesterol can cause a dangerous buildup of fatty deposits in your blood vessels, which can make it hard for your blood to flow through your arteries. Eventually, a clot can be formed and blood supply to different organs can be affected. 1, 2

Heart attack is when the coronaries (arteries supplying blood to your heart) become completely blocked, part of the heart muscle dies. Symptoms like chest pain, sweating, shortness of breath can be really dangerous.1, 2

Heart failure occurs when fatty deposits in the blood vessels forces the heart to exert extra effort to transfer the blood all over the body. This causes the heart muscle to get bigger, but eventually weaker and fails to perform its function, this causes symptoms like shortness of breath. 1, 2

Stroke happens when part of the brain does not receive enough blood. Part of the brain dies causing disabilities, like slurred speech or inability to life your arm. 1, 2

Collectively, the above mentioned are called cardiovascular disease. These can be avoided or stopped from getting worse by lowering high cholesterol level through proper treatment and healthy lifestyle. 1, 2
