Feeling of a sharp burning sensation in the center of the chest is a frequent complaint during pregnancy and usually disappears following childbirth.1,2

The pressure due to the growing uterus adds pressure on the intestines. The stomach also pushes the contents back up, which allows stomach acid to pass into the esophagus and causes the irritation of the lining causing the burning feeling.1

You can avoid these feeling by dividing your meals to five- six smaller meals during the day better than only three large meals. Try to eat slowly, and drink less while eating. 1

To decrease this burning sensations you can also add a spoon of honey to a glass of warm milk.1,2 Keeping your head high than your foot when you are going to sleep and placing several pillows under your shoulders help preventing stomach acids from rising back up into your esophagus.1,2

If this feeling didn’t go away on its own, ask your doctor about the medications that are safe to take during pregnancy.
